Classic Lotto 47
Classic Lotto 47, also called Lotto 47, is Michigan's flagship in-state jackpot game. Six numbers come from 1 to 47, and the jackpot starts at one million dollars before rolling. Tickets are a buck.
How it works: Classic Lotto 47
Choose six numbers from 1 to 47, or use Easy Pick. Each play costs one dollar. Match all six to win the jackpot, which starts at $1 million and grows until someone hits. Lower tiers pay fixed cash for 5, 4 or 3 matches.
The real odds of Classic Lotto 47
These figures come straight from the game's official number matrix, so they're fixed by math — not by which numbers you pick. A quick pick has exactly the same chance as any other combination, and no generator can change that.

A brief history
Michigan Lottery launched Lotto 47 on May 15, 2005, replacing the earlier WinFall game. The 6-of-47 matrix keeps the jackpot odds a little under one in eleven million — long for an in-state game, yet short enough that the top prize is won regularly and climbs into the millions. It has stayed a Michigan staple ever since.
